Travis Kelce Opens Up About Whether Taylor Swift Wants Him to Retire From the NFL

The tight end shared that he has "all the support in the world" regarding his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Travis Kelce, who has been a key player in the NFL for over 12 years, recently addressed growing speculation about his future in football. The 35-year-old tight end revealed that despite the chatter surrounding his career, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, has no plans of urging him to retire anytime soon.

In a conversation on the Stephen A. Smith Show on January 15, Kelce opened up about the support he receives from Swift regarding his football career. “She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” said Kelce, referencing the “Anti-Hero” singer. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the games and cheering for me.”

Kelce further expressed gratitude for the unwavering support he feels in his relationship. “So I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams,” he continued. “I think personally, that’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft.”

Swift has been a consistent presence at Chiefs games since the couple began dating in 2023, even attending the 2024 Super Bowl where the Chiefs emerged victorious. Most recently, she was spotted at a home game just before Christmas, donning a stylish furry red coat.

The NFL star also emphasized that the support is mutual. “That’s why I wanted to be at the concerts supporting her, being there for her and making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life,” said Kelce. He attended numerous shows during Swift’s Eras Tour, demonstrating his commitment to being there for her just as she supports him.

Kelce, who has played all 12 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, has won three Super Bowls during his career. As he nears 36, the question of retirement continues to loom over him, especially as he explores new opportunities in the entertainment world. Kelce has recently ventured into onscreen projects, such as starring in Grotesquerie and Happy Gilmore 2, as well as hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? This has led to increased fan speculation about his future in football, particularly with his older brother, Jason Kelce, retiring from the NFL last year at age 36.

However, as of now, Kelce remains fully committed to his NFL career, with the support of Swift and his family fueling his passion for the game.
