Latin Artists, Including Alejandro Fernández, Maná, and More, Donate to Support L.A. Wildfire Victims and Local Charities
In response to the devastating wildfires affecting Los Angeles, numerous Latin artists have come together to offer support to those impacted. Among them are Alejandro Fernández, Maná, Peso Pluma, Chiquis, and Fuerza Regida, who have all made generous contributions to help those in need and support local organizations.
Mexican artists Alejandro Fernández, Peso Pluma, and Maná have all announced donations to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, among other local relief efforts. Meanwhile, Mexican-American band Fuerza Regida took an impactful step by renting out a hotel to provide shelter for families displaced by the fires. Chiquis, a California resident, volunteered at a local refuge to help provide food and supplies. The ongoing wildfires have already destroyed more than 12,000 homes and buildings, displaced nearly 200,000 people, and claimed 25 lives, according to CNN.
Maná's frontman, Fher Olvera, urged others in the Latin artistic community to donate. “For Maná, Los Angeles has been a second home, and like family to us. Let’s donate and call on the Mexican and Latin American community in the United States. We have to give today, whatever we can,” Olvera said in a video posted on January 10. He emphasized the importance of finding a reliable foundation or institution to direct the donations.
Alejandro Fernández’s Donation
Alejandro Fernández, known as "El Potrillo," shared a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on his long-standing connection to Los Angeles. “I started my career in the U.S., in Los Angeles. I have so many memories of this great city and the fans who have always welcomed me so warmly,” Fernández wrote. He expressed his sorrow over the destruction caused by the fires and announced his donation to both the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Wildfire Relief Fund 2025. “It’s time to give back to this magnificent city what it has given to so many of us,” Fernández stated, affirming his support for Los Angeles.
Maná’s Contribution
Maná also expressed their concern for the ongoing crisis. Fher Olvera commented on the severity of the fires, saying, “It’s tremendous how the fire is raging.” The band shared a list of organizations they are supporting, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Lange Foundation, and the Pasadena Community Job Center.
Fuerza Regida’s Shelter Support
Fuerza Regida, a popular Mexican music group from San Bernardino, California, made a commitment to provide shelter to families in need. On January 11, the group announced that they had rented out a hotel capable of housing more than 50 families displaced by the fires. They pledged to continue offering assistance throughout this difficult time.
Peso Pluma’s Pledge
Peso Pluma, a rising star in Latin music, made a donation to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and shared his support on Instagram. “I’ve been very sad about what’s been happening these last few days in Los Angeles,” said Peso Pluma. “I’m here in California, which is my second home. Let’s be united. My heart and Mexico’s heart are with Los Angeles. Let’s support each other.”
Chiquis' Volunteering Efforts
Chiquis, who returned from a trip to the Philippines, joined local volunteers at a refuge in California. She expressed gratitude for the community’s efforts, stating on Instagram Stories, “I’m not posting this to boast or get praise, but I just feel very grateful with everyone that came together last minute to help.”
Ivan Cornejo’s Food Truck Donation
Mexican-American singer-songwriter Ivan Cornejo also stepped up, offering his support by providing a food truck at the Dream Center Foundation on January 15 to feed those in need. Cornejo, who is originally from Riverside, California, posted a message on Instagram to his followers, saying, “To my beautiful Los Angeles community, my heart is with everyone affected.”
Deorro’s Fundraising Event
Mexican-American DJ and producer Deorro is hosting a benefit event at Exchange LA on January 30. “Deorro & Friends” will donate 100% of net proceeds to support those impacted by the wildfires. The event aims to raise funds for disaster relief while bringing the community together to help those in need.
These efforts by Latin artists reflect the power of solidarity during times of crisis, demonstrating their commitment to the community and their ability to make a significant difference in the wake of disaster.
