Kenny Chesney to Make History with Sphere Residency in May

The country superstar will be the first to hold a residency at the Las Vegas venue, kicking off on May 22 with a 12-date run.

Kenny Chesney is set to make history as the first country artist to have a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, with his show launching on May 22 for a 12-date engagement. The announcement was made during his appearance on Today this morning.

“I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,” Chesney said in a statement. “Over the years, they’ve shown me how deeply they connect with these songs and how they’ve become part of their lives. When people give you so much heart, I want to give them even more.”

The 17,600-seat Sphere’s immersive 4D technology and cutting-edge sound played a major role in Chesney’s decision to join the venue. “When we started talking about all of the possibilities playing Sphere offered, I was all in,” Chesney explained. “The idea of 4D tech and the incredible sound really enhances the experience, immersing fans in the music and visuals. I can’t wait to bring this whole new way of rocking the fans to No Shoes Nation.”

Chesney, who has been a force in country music with over $1 billion in reported grosses to Boxscore, is known for his high-energy performances. His 2022 Here and Now Tour earned $135 million and landed in the Top 10 of Billboard’s all-genre Year-End Top 40 tours chart. Last year, his tour grossed $159.5 million, according to Billboard’s 2024 Year-End chart.

Tickets for Chesney’s Sphere residency will be available to the public on Friday, January 31 at 10 a.m. PT via KennyChesney.com. The residency is presented by Chesney’s Blue Chair Bay Rum.

Since its grand opening in September 2023 with U2’s 40-show run, Sphere has become a popular venue, hosting performances by artists like Phish, Dead & Co., and Anyma. The Eagles are currently in residence at the venue, which continues to draw major acts.
